Our favourite designers are they as short lived as fashions fads?

Like many of us I have really enjoyed the last month of fashion weeks, although having to enjoy them from the comfort of my own home rather than the FROW, none the less enjoyed them I have! Which got me thinking about which designer, which city, which trend, which show was my favourite. Every season I must admit my designer crush lasts as long as a fashion fad but this year I feel is a little different. It all started with my introduction to Chanel, I was obsessed with reading biographies about Coco (Justine Picardie being my fav) and then my Auntie gave me a pair of vintage Chanel earrings - I was in love. But although Karl Lagerfield never fails to pull out the stops my love soon turned to lust. Victoria Beckham was next, those lines, those dresses, that elegance. Miu Miu and Diesel Gold soon followed..

It all changed when I stumbled upon Isabel Marant and her ready to wear, slightly boho French ethos. She made fashion more tangible for me, no longer did I think that what went on on the catwalk stayed on the catwalk. I could actually see real women wearing her clothes in real life (not just celebs) looking fantastic at the same time. For me this is what great fashion is, effortless. Her Spring/Summer 2014 collection did not disappoint. Although edging towards a more feminine approach with a romantic vibe using lace, pink and frills she balances it out with leather and straps. Now I can safely say that my favourite designer is going to out live any fashion fad, I could even go as far as saying that I have fallen madly deeply in love, roll on her H&M collection..

Love or Hate Sales? Heres to Hate!!

Am I the only person excited that the sales are finally dissappearing? Am I the only one that feels dissappointed with sales?? Not only when you see that dress you splashed out on for THE wedding of the summer being slashed by 50% but you narrowly miss out on that half price leather jacket because no my friend I am not a size 6! Grrr... I think Sales are one of the main reasons we have a love, hate relationship with shopping! But, now I can breath a nice long sigh of relief as those dreaded rails get swept off the sales floor and in their space are the new, beautiful knits, textures and colours of Autumn and Winter... Hurrah!! And I know I am not the only one who loves to dress (and shop!)  for this new season..Here is a key piece to wet our transitional appetites...

And it comes in 3 colours! But not only that, it will work for those transitional summer-autumn-winter periods. Team the leather skirt and a chunky knit jumper for colder climes = texture heaven! Or leather skirt and a slogan T in the sun = too cool! This skirt is excellent value. Love! xx

Well, I have finally got back to normal after a busy Hay Festival! Now time to show you my little buys from the Hay does Vintage stall at the festival.. I found a beautiful Arun Jumper which will replace my very worn out, holely version which I can now happily recycle! Also I found this amazing Wool Coat. I fell in love with the over-sized boyfriend style and also its 'tweedy' look - perfect for cold country walks! Although I will have to wait a few months to wear them I will be styling both items with my trusty skinnies, Clark brogues or if its very raining I will style with my Chelsea Boots. Perfect! Now all I have to do is wait to wear...

Love this new little number by French Connection, very edgy and full of movement. Perfect for those gloomy  summer days.. If you want a pop of colour team with bright pumps or if your style is a little more laid back why not team with Converse hi-tops the more battered the better! Think Kristen Stewart edgy! Love love xx

Farm duties before fashion duties this morning! At least the sun was shining!
